Frequently asked questions
- How fast can a crew start using it? Create an account, add a job site, and file the first log today. Most shops are up and running within a few minutes.
- Who is this built for? Owner-operators and safety leads at roofing, landscaping, construction, agriculture, warehouse, and commercial kitchen shops with crews in any state. RestShade packs CA, OR, WA, MD, NV, MN, Colorado agriculture, and the OSHA Heat NEP everywhere else.
- Do we need sensors or new hardware? No. A supervisor enters temperature, heat index, or AQI from the tools you already use. Optional weather fetch is there if you want it.
- What do I hand an inspector or broker? One packet: current written plans, the last 14 days of site logs, the training roster, and who is in a 14-day acclimatization window.
- Do we log every workday? By default, only on action days when heat, smoke, or cold crosses thresholds. Mild days show as all clear. Switch to daily mode in Settings if you want a log every scheduled workday.
- Do I have to check the weather every morning? Not on the default action-day setup. RestShade watches each site forecast and emails your crew when heat, smoke, or cold crosses a threshold. Mild workdays stay all clear until something changes.
- Can supervisors log from a phone? Yes. RestShade on iOS and Android opens the same morning board and site log. File the reading on the pad, and the office still keeps the plans and packet.
